Kulturspital - Spitalkultur is a social and cultural project by the association AkutKultur. The project involves volunteer work and invites a sense of community. The training, supervision and assistance of the volunteers is a crucial part in empowering them to foster patient satisfaction – which is the main goal. It is conceived as an experiment: we want to find out if and how cultural work with patients finds a place in the daily routines of a hospital and, of course, does not add costs. The project which started in January 2017 has successfully completed it’s test phase in the nephrology unit of Kantonsspital Aarau and is now implemented in the radio-oncology department.
